Mold removal is pretty much a perennial household chore; it is also a necessity while some professional establishments have sprung up and made it a profession to inhibit the pest from making a mess out of American homes and other establishments. Given the costs of the havoc that it is able to do getting rid of them immediately is cost effective because if they are allowed to live on, thrive and fester, they will inevitably cause so much structural and bodily damage. There are cases wherein houses are inhabitable because of the toxic content of the air because of the spores released by the fungus while the people living in them became terminally ill, some sporting allergic symptoms for life. These are the reasons why getting rid of them should be an absolute priority. Here’s how:
Bleach and Detergent
When you have found mold in the early stages of development, it is imperative that you immediately find a way to kill it.
They can grow and plant based material (although the chances of finding them in other surfaces are likely) in less than two days and need moisture to thrive. Even in minute traces try to load a bucket up with clean water and put a considerable amount of bleach and detergent. After which, apply it in the moldy area and start scrubbing away. It may seem to be a tedious task, but scrubbing them away looses their foundations and effectively kills them. Remember though, antibacterial solutions may not actually work since mold is considered a fungus, not as a bacteria. After you clean the area, make sure that there are no traces of it (which are green and black spots), then rinse and completely dry it up.

Porous materials are goners
Dry wallpapers, rotten wood, carpets and clothes that get moldy must be immediately thrown away and replaced. As for carpets, mold is able to fill in the spots inside them, especially in the places where the stitching is tight. In this case, removing the mold may be next to impossible.
Close and repair leaky pipes and sources of moisture
As a preventive measure, it is imperative that you locate and check out if the pipes inside your home are leaking water out. Mold is caused primarily by defective plumbing, which when left alone, may cause wood to rot and mold to thrive. Another source is rainwater, so be sure to repair roof shingles and clean up the gutters.
Thoroughly clean and dry out
Never ever place wallpaper or paint surfaces that are moldy. Never try to hide them under another surface, instead, clean them up completely. When going on with the daily operations of the household, you may want to make sure that everything is thoroughly dried out, like when you are washing the dishes or taking a bath. A little bit of personal hygiene and home maintenance may be all you need to prevent mold from residing. It just takes a little discipline and a pinch of determination.
